Project delivery has many enablers, spanning administrative, managerial, and technological methods. The best successes often come from a combination of these functional areas. This Technology News column highlights initiatives that integrate technology and project management. The first pair of items cover the evolution of ultra high- performance concrete, which since the turn of this century has gone from a novel specialty to a solution with a growing number of applications and increasing return on investment in cost, time, and performance. While current standards constrain it from becoming a fully functional part of the industry toolbox, progress in that direction is being made through emerging partnerships and collaboration. The next item examines a recently announced public- private consortium looking to pool together supercomputing resources to assist medical researchers in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Finally, the last two items examine digital project delivery: one covers a new federal facility using advanced augmented and virtual reality to achieve immersion in digital projects and environments; the second dives into efforts to evolve this capability for the transportation sector.
