GeoReach: 'Web-Based Weapon'

Before airplanes, munitions, fuel and people hit the ground in a forward operating location, GeoReach has "been there. GeoReach is the Air Force's Web-based mapping service that integrates data from several Air Force and commercial sources and supports its expeditionary forces. The first step in any deployment is site selection. Prior to and during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, GeoReach overlayed satellite images, GPS points and infrastructure features into a single map, along with mission data, airfield suitability assessments, aircraft parking, and beddown layouts in a Web-based format that is easily configured by planners and commanders. Planners can immediately assess a commander's needs and determine whether a location will accommodate mission requirements.
