Fuel Cell Locomotive Commissioned

The nation's first fuel cell hybrid switch locomotive made its first track run at Topeka, Kan., in June. The locomotive is the product of collaboration between the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and Vehicle Projects with funding from the Defense Logistics Agency.
