While there are many career opportunities for engineers in their military professions, the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force have promoted engineers to leadership positions outside the engineer community. While this is great for our leaders, it can lead to fewer engineer officers available to fill important engineer positions. I had the pleasure of attending the installation of Maj. Gen. Gregg F.
