RAND STUDY: BENEFICIAL COLLABORATION BETWEEN ARMY INSTALLATIONS AND ENERGY UTILITY COMPANIES

The U.S. Army would not only like to save energy, but money spent on energy. Whereas in 2010, Army installations spent more than $1.2 billion on energy utilities, the Army now aspires to have "Net Zero Energy Installations," in which installations produce as much energy as they use in a year. In a study for the Army, RAND Arroyo Center finds that success is attainable for both parties when the Army collaborates with utility companies.
