The current deep recession means that some pilots are having to confront redundancy for the first time in their working lives.Today's relativelyjunior pilots inhabit a much costlier world than their predecessors, paying off loans for pilot training and even conversion costs, whilst trying to afford housing, pension and possibly tuition fees too. Small wonder that many feel that the UFO principle serves only the cosseted senior pilots who have benefited from superior pay and conditions foryears.
