Dublin's Greatest Gem?

At the heart of Dublin's superb National Gallery is one of the great works of European art, by one of its most unconventional and influential artists. Yet the Taking of Christ' (sometimes called The Kiss of Judas') by Michaelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) painted around 1602, was a lost masterpiece, known only from an inferior copy in Odessa in Russia, when it was discovered in a Catholic seminary in Ireland in 1994. Sometimes I think it mightrnalmost have been worth living as a young celibate priest, to have had the chance to experience this wonderful painting on a daily basis.
