Maintenance by Design (Part 1)

Peter Harrison, Senior Consultant of Jacobs Engineering UK Ltd., offers the first of two 'back to basics' reports on best practice in public lighting maintenance. The ILP's Exterior Lighting Diploma (ELD) has now become the industry 'standard' for exterior lighting designers. It consists of three formal residential modules followed by a fourth project module where the training is used by the student to deliver either a work-based project, or a specified installation study, as a practical demonstration of their retained knowledge.
