Bath completes £2m replacemenr scheme

Bath and North Somerset Council has completed the £2m replacement of 4000 lights on main traffic routes with dimmable Philips LED luminaires. The council expects the new lighting to create savings of £200,000 a year and to reduce its carbon emissions by 800 tonnes a year, or three per cent of its carbon footprint. The replacement scheme followed a trial at Hicks Gate roundabout on the A4 in Keynsham. The original sodium sources were replaced with Ledgine-based SpeedStar luminaires, which include integral preprogrammed Dynadimmer dimming modules.
