The ancient Greek theatre of Taormi-na dates back to the third century BC and is the largest ancient theatre of its kind in Sicily, only rivalled by the ancient theatre of Syracuse. Naturally, the site is a beacon for tourists and Sicily's Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity was keen to look at how visiting hours could be extended into the evening, with a new light scheme the obvious answer.
