Businesses Helping Businesses Be More Sustainable

The tea company Tetley latched onto sustainable growing and manufacturing in the early 1990s, and by the middle of the decade it had instituted resource-saving and ecosystem-preserving measures within every step of its supply chain. Its leadership then decided to help other businesses to do the same. So it reached out to the multinational Unilever with a proposal that the two companies collaborate to monitor each other's supply chains. Unilever agreed and, in 1997, co-founded with Tetley the Ethical Tea Partnership.
