Helping cooperatives cope with climate change

In May, ELI's Alejandra Rabasa was in Chiapas, Mexico, with Julia Carabias of our partner Natura y Ecosistemas Mexicanos, conducting workshops with ejidos, farming cooperatives, near the Montes Azules Reserve. Alejandra and Julia con- ducted 11 workshops with many ejidos communities covering the science and politics of climate change, the impacts of climate change in their communities, methods of adapting to climate change that work in their communities, and proposed rules to govern community activities as a means of promoting adaptation to climate change.
