Deepwater Horizon ELI fact-sheet resources to help Gulf of Mexico communities recover from country's worst-ever oil spill

Since the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster that spilled an estimated 3.2 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, ELI has worked with local and national partners to support restoration and recovery. ELI has developed informational materials and hosted training workshops for a variety of stakeholders with the intent of helping Gulf residents understand the complicated processes designed to provide funding and oversight of restoration efforts. ELI provides this informational support with the intent to encourage meaningful public engagement in the environmental recovery projects taking place in Gulf state communities.
