Chinese delegation visits Engineers Ireland

The President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Xu Kuangdi, and the Chinese Ambassador, Mr Liu Biwei, were welcomed on their visit to Engineers Ireland by Director General John Power and President of the Irish Academy of Engineering, Michael Hayden together with immediate Past President of Engineers Ireland, Jack Golden and Denis McGrath, Registrar. The Chinese visitors had sought the meeting with a view to strengthening co-operation between Irish and Chinese engineering bodies as well as building mutually beneficial links. Mr Cheng Jiayi, Deputy Director General, Department of International Co-operation, Chinese Academy of Engineering; Mr Guan Jian, Deputy Director Division One of the Department of International Co-operation, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Mr Huang Wei, First Secretary of the S&T Section, Chinese Embassy also joined the informal talks.
