Big screen mirrors digital trend

When Toy Story 2 opened in London's West End recently there was more than the stunning digital wizardry of Pixar and Buena Vista to marvel at. The comic capers of Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the gang were projected onto the giant cinema screen without the use of film. More than ever before, the images we view on screens are created, captured, edited or delivered digitally, using technology that has become widely known as digital light processing (DLP). Innovations such as HDTV, 64-bit gaming systems, digital cameras and DVDs supply the images, while DLP displays them.
