The UK's aer ospace firms are being 'hammered' by the crisis in the aviation sector, engineering unions told MPs at Westminster this week. Union leaders hope Wednesday's mass lobby will increase the pressure on ministers to offer greater support to the sector, in line with financial aid offered to the struggling aviation industry by both the US administration and the European Union since 11 September.
