In the 1950s and 1960s, a large number of potential hydro-electric sites were identified. Fewer than half of those that were commercially viable were developed at the time. The viability of these schemes must be much more attractive now. Not only that, but the technology is both proven and reliable. It seems strange not to include these in the renewable aspirations when their development would be relatively straightforward.
