Co-ops Roll Out Smart Grid Program

With a recently received $33.9 million grant from the Energy Department, 19 U.S. electric cooperatives will now embark on a nationwide demonstration project to deploy 153,000 smart grid components across the country to "test their value" for co-op members, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association announced earlier this month.
