Mary Katherine Ishee, an energy and environment consultant and a former senior counsel to two Senate committees, Wednesday was named deputy director of the Interior Department's Minerals Management Service, which manages offshore energy resources.rnPrior to her new post, Ishee worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant specializing in "smart growth" community development and land-use planning issues.rnIshee previously served as senior energy counsel to Sen. Jim Jeffords (I-Vt.) on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee when the Clinton administration was in office.
