Hospitality sector could save £6m by handling its food waste better

The hospitality sector could save up to £6.6m a year by not sending food waste to landfill, according to a study by the Waste & Recycling Action Programme (WRAP).1 The sector currently recycles almost 48% of the 3.4 million tonnes of waste it produces each year. But companies could be doing much more. WRAP'S study was a major piece of work and provides data rarely available for commercial waste.
