Firms guided on valuing nature

A new guide will help businesses put a price on the nature which they impact and depend on. The World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Guide to Corporate Ecosystem Valuation was published in early April.1 It was written over an 18-month period, by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Price-waterhouseCoopers (PwC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and consultants ERM. During development, 14 major firms including Lafarge and Veolia tested the guide on a project, decision or development.
