The water industry's professionals have been demotivated by the cost-cutting climate of the past few years and are now entering a period of further uncertainty as water authority privatisation draws near. The formation of the Institution of Water and Environmental Management (IWEM) from three existing professional institutions will enable their interests to be represented more forcefully.
