Shades of grey in a green economy

As we close in on next year's election, old certainties over the UK's fledgling green economy are being shaken by the first skirmishes of political parties (p8), NGOs and businesses (p7). Energy will be a key battleground. Coalition reforms give long-term support for both new baseload and back-up plant, as well as powers to impose an emissions performance standard and decarbonisation targets.
