DECC's latest £540m effort to boost uptake of the Green Deal loan scheme is likely to improve accessibility, but it is unlikely to offset cuts elsewhere. The three-year Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, announced on 1 May, will replace the scheme's current Cash-back grants. From June, it will offer households or landlords up to £1,000 for up to 100% of the cost for installing at least two measures from a list of 12. The scheme also covers up to 75% of costs to a total of £6,000 for installing more costly solid wall insulation. This can be installed as a separate measure or combined with the £1,000 package including two or more other measures.
