'Shameful’: Government faces court battle after snubbing airports policy review

The government's decision not to update its Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS) tobring it in line with the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction pledges for 2030 and 2050, isset to face a legal challenge from campaigners. In a letter to legal campaigners the Good Law Project, transport secretary Grant Shapps said it was “notappropriate to review the ANPS on the basis of climate change or carbon policy at this time”.
