‘Managed decline’: TfL decarbonisation plans at risk

A report from TfL’s finance committee last week said the pandemic had left the organisation facing theprospect of a “managed decline” to make the required savings.The move would mean cutting bus services by a fifth and Tube services by almost 10%. It would also resultin “no proactive progress” on schemes such as the electrification of TfL vehicles or on measures to promotea shift towards more sustainable modes of transport such as cycling.
