Natural England failing to engage with councils on biodiversity net gain

Released this week, the report gives an analysis of how Natural England has fared against its 25 performanceindicator targets for the year 2020/2021.Its worse performance was against its target to engage with 30 local planning authorities (LPAs) on how to embedbiodiversity net gain policies in their work. Though Natural England continued to support some LPAs whose workwas already at an advanced stage, most plans to meet the target were paused due to the pandemic, according tothe report.
