EU parliament rejects 10-year glyphosate extension

The European Commission (EC) has shelved its proposal to extend the EU permit for glyphosate by ten years after it became clear it would not garner enough support from national government delegates. It follows one day after the vote on 24 October by MEPs for a full phase-out of glyphosate within five years.
