Robert Ash is professor of economics with special reference to China and Taiwan in the department of economics and the Centre for Financial and Management Studies, and director of the Taiwan studies programme, at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.rnT. H. Barrett is professor of East Asian history at SOAS. He is the author of a number of studies of the history of Chinese religion and of Western writing on China, most recently The Woman Who Discovered Printing (Yale University Press, 2008).rnAlbert H. Y. Chen is the Chan professor in constitutional law at the University of Hong Kong. His books include An Introduction to the Legal System of the People's Republic of China (LexisNexis, 3rd ed., 2004) and The World of Jurisprudence (Falixue de shijie) (China University of Political Science and Law Press, 2003).
