China's involvement in Latin American countries is expanding in a visible and dramatic way. In a time frame of less than a decade, China has gone from having virtually no presence in Latin America to being a very significant trade partner to a large number of Latin American states, among them Brazil and Chile (first), Peru and Uruguay (second), and Argentina (fourth). In other states, headline splashing deals have been announced.
