Crown's beverage can volumes up 5%

Crown Holdings grew its global beverage can volumes by 5 percent in 2012, and added 3.5 billion beverage canmaking capacity in growth markets.But unfavourable foreign currency translation and the pass through of lower material costs cut total sales to US$8.47bn last year, down 2.0 percent on 2011. Total segment income was also down, by 6 percent to $895 million in the 12-month period.
