Compressed technology halves Unilever's aerosol can sizes

Half-size aerosol cans that are just as effective as their full-size equivalents have been launched in the UK by Unilever to "revolutionise the deodorant aisle and make the category more sustainable".The 75ml 'Compressed' cans - for the Sure, Dove and Vaseline brands - are claimed to last the same length of time as 150ml cans while using half the amount of the propellant.Unilever says it is committed to halve the waste associated with the disposal of its products by 2020, compared with 2008.Across the three brands, the new-look cans use on average 25 percent less aluminium and, due to the smaller size, 53 percent more cans fit onto a pallet, claims Unilever, providing a significant reduction in the emissions associated with having 35 percent fewer trucks moving the products.
