Pacific Can is planning a new inhouse canmaking facility to directly supply the Wanglaoji herbal tea plant at Ya'an, near Chengdu in the Sichuan province of central China. The two-piece D&I beverage can line will be designed and constructed within the Wanglaoji complex by Pacific Can, which is controlled by the Shengxing group. The estimated cost of the investment is RMB300 million (US$42.5m). Managing director of Pacific Can Danny Li said: "Shengxing-Pacific Can is one of the top three can suppliers to Wanglaoji, and we will be the strategic can supplier to Wanglaoji in Ya'an. We will own the line, and rent the space from Wanglaoji which will own the building."
