Article 2 applies to "transactions in goods"1 and defines "goods" to include tangible personal property that is moveable at the time it is identified to the contract.2 Courts tend to read section 2-102 more narrowly than its text invites, applying Article 2 only to present sales of goods and to contracts for the future sale of goods.3
