How did you end up being an independent motor assessor? I started as an apprenticeship at the age of 15 and qualified as a motor mechanic, then became a motor vehicle technician and moved in to vehicle testing after that. I always enjoyed Learning and attending college, so the next step for me was to become an automotive engineer. I started the IAEA course in the Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street, in 2006 and completed the four written exams, moving on to the practical which I completed and received full membership of the IAEA. What roles have you held in the Irish Region of the IAEA? Committee member for five years; three years as the continuous professional development and event co-ordinator for the Irish Region, and Treasurer of the IAEA Irish Region, 2015.
