Robotics are increasingly being used to build cars, with General Motors and Ford already trialling new technologies in their assembly plants to ease the production process. In Germany, Ford has developed and is testing new collaborative metre-tall robots - or co-bots - to work alongside employees to fit shock absorbers to Fiesta, a task that requires accuracy, strength and dexterity.
