Grossman's book is an easy and quick read, but it falls short of being a scholarly effort. Essentially, the book appears to be a long version of the author's lectures and speeches. It is written as one might speak, without the formalities of citations or explanation of facts from learned studies. Grossman relies disproportionately on anecdotal evidence and colleagues' literature and lectures without providing the nature or citation of the literature or lectures.35 In addition, the writing is fraught with the overuse of quotation marks for no apparent reason other than Grossman's desire to highlight a particular word.
