Spandau Ballet are touring, detectives are driving red Audi Quattros on TV, the country is in recession and the Prince of Wales is giving architects a headache. So, is it 2009, or 1984? I've written previously (AJ 27.11.08) about how uncomfortably the Prince sits as the next patron of the RIBA, and this week sees the 25th anniversary of his infamous 'carbuncle' speech, which shocked the institute out of its complacency.
