A balcony around the upper storey of the building forms an outdoor learning zone. This is intended for older learner and provides shelter to the play spaces. The balcony is enclosed within a screen, which consists of 120 fins, set out to increments of three degrees, suspended from a stainless steel bracket, fixed to the curved edge of the roof slab and horizontally restrained by the curved edge of the balcony slab. A curved steel channel replaces that slab edge at the main entrance, toilet pod and external stair. All fins are identical but installed differently. The glass panels forming the balustrade are fixed to the fins at angles corresponding to the adjacent fin orientation.
