Bermondsey Village Action Group (BVAG) is a recently formed body of residents and businesses in the London borough of Southwark. The village, which forms the area south of the railway viaduct in St Thomas Street and Crucifix Lane to the former abbey at Bermondsey Square to the east and St George the Martyr church on Borough High Street to the west, has a unique historical character. Southwark's planners have now proposed that a wall of high-rise buildings should be promoted along the south side of St Thomas Street,dividing the village from its natural boundary: the London and Brighton railway viaduct.
