North London regeneration

HawkinsBrown has been appointed lead architect on the ￡25 million Highmead regeneration project in Edmonton, north London. The practice will produce a detailed design for around 100 mixed-tenure homes, 1,200m~2 of commercial space and 250m~2 of community facilities on the 0.6ha site, which currently houses a rundown 1960s tower block. Detailed planning permission will be submitted in November 2010, with a view to appointing a development partner in September 2011.
