Developer Land Securities has revealed its replacement plans for Make's abandoned 'half-doughnut proposals for its Old Bailey site in the City of London. The new designs for the 36,000m2 plot have been drawn up by Fletcher Priest and Sauerbruch Hutton, who were brought on to the development last March (2010). Although Ken Shuttleworth's practice won planning for its 'innovative' semi-circular office and retail project in April 2008 {left), the proposals were branded an 'incongruous addition to the local tight streetscape'by CABE, which feared the central space would be 'oppressive'.
