refined dining Congratulations to Carmody Groarke for winning the job for Argent's pop-up restaurant at King's Cross (AJ 08.03.12). Astragal couldn't help a nagging recollection of a petrol station eatery project from 2010, to which the project may owe - ahem - a certain homage. Step forward The Filling Station! By Nicola Read of the 815 Agency and Crystal Bennes of Salon London in 2010 (AJ 22.02.10 and AJ 24.03.11) at the London Festival of Architecture. Same city, same name, same(ish) concept, but of course, a completely different experience, no doubt.
