Signing his first public-speaking commitment since being awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize last October, architect Steve Tompkins of Haworth Tompkins will join The Independents architecture critic Jay Merrick in conversation at Ecobuild 2015. The largest B2B marketplace dedicated to the future of the sustainable design, construction and energy industry, Ecobuild 2015 is set to attract more than 44,000 built-environment professionals. In addition, as part of its highly regarded conference programme, it will also play host to sessions with Sir John Armitt, former chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority, Lord Deben, chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, and leader of the Green Party, Natalie Bennett. And if that wasn't enough to whet the appetites of the UK's design community, architect Ian Simpson, responsible for so much of Manchester's 'new look' will be delivering a talk on tall buildings. Simpson is set to discuss the big question: are tall towers the most sustainable way to accommodate a burgeoning population?
