This extension and rafurbishment transforms a Victorian house, with new, open-plan spaces and an improved relationship to the garden. The works included the demolition of original rooms in the rear at both ground and half-landing level above, allowing a double-height space to be created in the new kitchen. A bespoke polished stainless steel chandelier in the double-height area adds drama, reflecting views of the room below and emphasising height. Polished stainless finishes are continued internally with a recessed display case and externally with cladding details. A sculpted ceiling profile with radius plasterwork leads the eye towards the garden and enables a slim head detail above the3.1m-tall doors.
