GREEK CHAPEL

摘要

A simple series of sculptural pavilions are connected around an open courtyard garden to form this contemporary private chapel on the Cycladic island of Mykonos. Materially, the church follows thetradition of the ubiquitous whitewashed buildings of the Cyclades, whileformally the chapel and attendant baptistery are organised on the strict east-west axis dictated by Greek Orthodox Church architecture. A window in the western wall of the chapel is chamfered and positioned so that, from the centre of the marble disc in the floor, one is in alignment with the point of sunset on the chapel saint's day of 6 August.
