OPEN WIDTH PROCESSING OF KNIT GOODS ―CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

The world-wide demand for knit goods is growing. Today most of the fabric is bleached and dye processed by exhaust processing in jets. Various quality problems and approximately 20-30% higher processing costs are forcing the change to open width continuous processing. This development occurred in the woven goods field 30 years ago. Today open width processing of woven goods is state of art. Benninger, as a supplier of machines for continuous open width processing, has developed new concepts for knitted goods. The main advantages besides the lower production costs are the improved quality and fewer losses due to defects from jet processing.
