Fabrics suppliers seek better deals as global prices surge

Indian clothing companies will have to shell out more for fabric in the new season starting October as fabric suppliers now prefer signing export contracts to take advantage of peak global prices. Most large and prominent clothing exporting firms have been asked by suppliers to prepare for another round of cost escalation. Fabric prices have already risen by 20% in the last one year and affected margins of clothing exporters as it eats more than half their operating costs.
