New Fibre Testing Techniques

Up to now some fibre properties could not be measured, or with considerable efforts only. Examples are tensile tests on short-cut fibres (> 3 mm), tests of the friction properties of single fibres or filaments towards metals or ceramics, the vibroscopic linear-density test on stiff fibres and the determination of fibre bending stiffness itself. Based on the new single-fibre tester FAVIMAT+ Textechno has developed new methods for an easy determination of the above properties. Furthermore, new methods for measuring the evenness of yarn and the drapability of fabrics will be introduced.
