Expanding the Egyptian textile market

The African textile industry is estimated to grow at a CAGR of ~5% over the forecast period of 2019-2024, according to Mordor Intelligence. The African continent is incredibly varied when it comes to textile manufacturing but has always been a constant presence in the cotton, spinning and weaving markets. Additionally, the market has been involved in digital textile printing, particularly in the North and South of the continent, WTiN Intelligence: Digital Textiles reports. Egypt has always been an important part of the African – and indeed the global – textile industries. A University of Bradford, UK, report by Sameh F Matar in 2019, states: “Egypt is considered a pioneer in the textile industry as its history dates back thousands of years. Through the different decades and with the support of different successive governments, the textile industry has developed to become a major pillar for Egyptian development.”
